Who are we?

 

The congregation of Benedictine Sisters of Oshikuku was founded in 1932. The principal house of the congregation is in the Archdiocese of Windhoek. The noviciate is at St Cecilia in Mariabronn.

The members of the congregation live and serve in the Archdiocese of Windhoek and the Apostolic vicariate of Rundu and the diocese of Ondjiva, Angola.

 

Mission Statement

Today the Benedictine Sisters of Oshikuku continue to follow the rules of St Benedict seeking God in community, prayer and work wherever they live and serve. During the General Chapter held between 11/12/2002 and 05/01/2003, the delegales approved the following as the Congregation’s mission Statement.

We members of the Congregation of Benedictine Sisters of Oshikuku work collaboratively in the mission of the church, serving people of Namibia and wherever else we are sort. We give witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ by our service to one another, our prayer and our work in education, catechetical and pastoral service, health care and social work.

We are 121 sisters final and temporal vows, 6 novices, 1 postulant and 5 candidates.
